Compensation: Starting salary of 120,000 rwf- Negotiable depending on credentials and if employee resides at the HFLM center
Job description:
-Supervise the children on a daily basis: This includes being aware of each child’s whereabouts, physical health, and solving daily problems. Depending on work hours, this supervision will take place during their daily life, night routines, sporting activities, and church attendance on Sundays
-Leading daily devotions and prayer times as well as individual discipleship with boys.
-Tutor the boys once home from school everyday and work alongside them to complete homework or study for exams. This will include teaching English and basic education to children who are not yet enrolled in school -Mentor and teach the boys biblical values, responsibility, discipline and positive habits.
-Meet with children individually on a regular basis counseling them and helping them work through trauma and other present struggles in their lives
-Keep records of each child’s progress and development, along with detailed records of money spent on children’s behalf
-Create daily programs for the children during school vacation to keep them occupied with healthy activities -Aid the Case Worker in maintaining relations with HFLM children’s family and work towards reconciliation between children and their family
Qualifications:
Committed Christian with passion for serving children
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered as a valid substitute
Experience working with vulnerable youth, both in large group settings and individual mentoring
Strong oral and written English skills
Must be a team player and work well with others
Must be punctual, internally motivated, patient, and have a strong work ethic
Preference given to:
-Flexibility in work schedule and ability to reside at the HFLM center
-Experience caring for street children
-Experience teaching English and other subjects
