Position: Publicity and Marketing Intern
Job Description: The Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for implementing a publicity plan for Africa Turnaround Limited and Twalisha Limited in three avenues; mainstream media, online media and events.
Social Media
- Updates company’s social media accounts- Twitter, facebook, linkedIn
- Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with ATL.
- Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content.
- Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts it to our Facebook and Twitter page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
- •Updates Facebook and Twitter accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from ATL’s activities and events.
- •Grows ATL’s online social networks by increasing fan?base and interactions.
- mpletes other social media projects as assigned.
- Takes pictures and videos of training events to be developed into content for the ATL’s website, Facebook , LinkedIN and Twitter pages.
- Uploads ATL’s photos and videos to the appropriate server.
- Organizes and archives digital images and videos.
- Completes other digital media projects as assigned.
- Regularly observes the online activity of model organizations researches and reports on “social media best practices”.
- Completes other research projects as assigned.
- Develop and maintain relations with local media.
- Research and write all media releases, articles and testimonials
- Research and write the quarterly Company Newsletters
- Identify opportunities and generate ideas for media coverage, and pitch ideas to appropriate media outlets
- Uses Insights and Analytics from the social media accounts to assess trends and activity on the ATL’s social media pages and website.
- Reviews data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach.
- Proactively seeks professional development and client experience opportunities in order to enhance their ability to service ATL’s business and technical environments.
- Grows to differentiate when requirements and outcomes have not been clearly articulated and is able to communicate to the project leader when additional clarity is required.
- Documentation skills continue to improve through experience.
- Committed to improving their understanding of small businesses and the sectors ATL works in.
- Regularly expanding their knowledge by asking questions and clearly communicating on areas where they need support.
- Aspiration to grow and develop into a cutting edge Digital Media expert.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Competence in MS Office programmes (especially MsWord and MS Excel).
- Positive professional attitude and work ethic.
- Degree Level and Above (Media related field)
