Kone is looking to recruit a Regional Operations Director

 

Reporting to the MD, the Regional Director is responsible for the P&L results of the E.A Region. 
He will also take overall responsibility for installation and maintenance services.

Key Purpose: Develop and implement strategies for providing cost-effective, consistent, and reliable installation and maintenance services to customers that fulfill ongoing installation and maintenance contracts, achieve specific business initiatives and improve the customer focus, competitive position, market share and profitability of the installation and maintenance business across the regional frontline business. 


Responsibilities
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement a strategy for installation and maintenance activities that align with the organisation’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Overall budget and P&L responsibility for the entire region as well as planning and reporting for the regional business.
  • Ensuring the region is in full compliance with KONE business policies, processes and methods.
  • Establish operating budgets; monitor the cost, effectiveness, and reliability of installation activities, maintenance and modernization activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and ensure that standards are met.
  • Provides direction and support to the business in executing corporate objectives/initiatives
  • Accountable for and leads installation, maintenance and modernization operations in the region in line with global guidelines and region operation’s guidelines and in line with KONE Way requirements of Safety, Productivity, Quality and Reliability.
  • Understand the current and future opportunities for the maintenance business in the region and define and implement local and global maintenance development actions, which cover processes, product offering and ensure the KONE Pricing Policy is followed.
  • Evaluate critical schedule problems, equipment problems and authorise significant changes to installation activities or agreements as well as in maintenance and modernization agreements.
  • Establish and maintain high-level relationships with customers to promote KONE’s products and services and resolve disagreements over the terms and conditions of installation agreements, maintenance and modernization agreements.
  • Evaluate the results of all installation activities as well as maintenance and modernization agreements, identify recurring problems and prepare recommendations for executives about significant changes that need to be made to resources, procedures, systems, products, or technology.
  • Responsible for driving a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop employee competences and motivation in region in cooperation with MD and Unit HR.
  • Identify training needs for managers, project managers and supervisors in order to fulfil business plan in each area of discipline.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the Installation and Maintenance teams and professionals to achieve the established budget, safety, quality and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Accountable for project variation management during the installation process and identifying additional sales opportunities.
This position will suit an individual with:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Masters degree in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in operations management – either installation or maintenance preferably in the construction equipment, industrial tools, air conditioning and refrigeration industries.
  • Must have budget/ P& L responsibility
  • Experience in managing large teams
