Tullow Oil is seeking talented, motivated, skilled individual to fill the following position:
 

Social Impact Coordinator
Reports to: Social Impact Manager
 
Job Purpose:  
  • Be responsible for day-to-day planning, implementation and monitoring of projects concerned with the assessment and management of social impact as described in the Social Impact Management Plan
  • Conduct social baseline data collection and analysis activities.
  • Assist with the ongoing management and monitoring of social impacts in the field in line with business requirements and applicable policies and guidelines
Responsibilities:
  • Undertake retrospective social mapping of areas in which Tullow has activities
  • Proactively identify where social mapping activities need to be undertaken in line with forecast operational and development activities.
  • Carry out site-specific social baselines and social impact analysis and assessment as required
  • Assist with the development of appropriate data collection and monitoring methodologies to support the effective identification, analysis and management of social impacts related to Tullow activities
  • Monitor socio-economic changes within the project area and advice the business of areas of concern
  • Work with social performance and other Tullow functional areas and the affected communities to define appropriate mitigation measures
  • Support the planning, management, implementation and monitoring & evaluation of the planned mitigation actions for specific impacts identified.
  • Work in collaboration with other functional teams to apply the findings of socio-economic studies to social investment and impact management strategies.
  • Undertake any other tasks or duties as may be reasonably required.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in humanities / social science / arts
  • Five years experience in social baseline, impacts’ monitoring, risk and impact management in a business environment
  • Five years experience in project monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in social data collection methodologies and data analysis.
  • Understanding of social risk analysis process
  • Understanding of the principles of socio-economic baselines and social impact assessment
  • Ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data collection methodologies, including data collection via the use of questionnaires and participatory techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
