Tullow Oil is seeking talented, motivated, skilled individual to fill the following position:

Social Performance Seismic Coordinator
Reports to: Stakeholder Engagement Manager
 
Job Purpose: 
  • Serve as the Social Performance point-of-contact for all on-going and planned seismic operations
  • Support the development, execution and oversight of appropriate social performance systems and procedures to effectively support seismic acquisition programmes
  • Work closely with other functions responsible for the development and management of initiatives & programmes to ensure that community impacts are minimised and long term, positive relationships are developed within affected communities
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adequate planning of community engagement and consultation aimed at facilitating timely entry, execution and close-out of seismic projects
  • Ensure that the grievance management systems are maintained and adhered to by all concerned parties.
  • Assist Field Supervisors, Stakeholder Engagement in the development of community engagement plans for all seismic projects and ensure these plans are rolled out.
  • Ensure planning and execution of land access and compensation procedures, including mitigation/compensation for economic and physical displacement, is executed in  line with TKBV and Government of Kenya requirements;
  • Assist with the management and coordination of the compensation assessment & payment procedure in cordination with the in-country Tullow seismic team
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of information used to support ongoing social impact assessments and development of management actions to mitigate the effects/impacts of Tullow operations on immediate communities.
  •  Support execution of all Site Specific Assessments and baseline surveys related to seismic operations.
  • Ensure all seismic projects are appropriately resourced, including the management of staff rotation schedules
  • Provide regular updates to the Stakeholder Engagement Manager on the status of issues pertaining to community relations;
  • Maintain stakeholder database, assist with the roll out and subsequent tracking  of the TKBV grievance management system post- implementation;
  • Manage any external consultancies and contractors effectively and as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field desired but not essential
  • Three years previous experience working within a community relations/development role.
  • Previous exposure to environmental / social impact assessment and management would be desirable. 
  • Experience within a major infrastructure project / resource sector would be highly desirable, but not essential. 
  • Experience in supporting land access, permitting and compensation activities would be desirable.
  • Ability to integrate engagement and consultation outcomes into business and project planning as required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with government, contractors, consultants, etc.
  • Capacity to build and maintain a network of local stakeholders and informed parties. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict situations including conflict resolution and analysis.
