Well established group of companies in Qatar are looking for Telecommunication Technicians to assist in the implementation of work orders assigned by the Team Leader Telecommunication at sites such as repair, maintenance, inspection and installing telecom systems.
- Must have 5 years relevant working experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in testing optical fiber cabling with OTDR & LSPM
- Bachelor / diploma / certificate from an accredited institution in electrical/electronics / telecommunication or related field
Technical competencies:
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the trade
- Reasonable knowledge of applicable codes standards and regulations
- Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of telecoms systems and assignments common to the trade
- Experienced in installation splicing, termination & testing of fiber optic cables with preference for certified technicians
- Experience in ADSL, DSL & IPTV network configurations of switches & routers
- Familiar with materials for fiber optic splicing elements, termination, connecters, distribution panels
- Knowledge & experience in OSP network elements in various types include but not limited to manhole, hand hole cabinets
- Understands OSP & ISP drawings and related to work specifics of wire line FO networks
- 2 – 3 year experience in GPON installation & migrations of Huawei Optical Network Units’ will be an advantage
- Ability to survey and inspect installation of ONT & indoor/outdoor drop cabling in buildings
- Able to work with a team & maintain proper communication with team
- Output work assignments and provision of reports to supervisors on time
Monthly gross salary: QR 2,200 – 2,300 depending on experience
