Research, Planning & Projects Director Job vacancy at NTSA in Kenya 2014
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established under the National Transport and Safety Authority Act 2012. Its Overall mandate is to implement policies relating to road transport and safety.
The Authority wishes to recruit for the following vacant positions and invites applications from eligible Kenyan citizens who satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
Director, Research, Planning & Projects
The applicants MUST be persons of high integrity with demonstrable track record of exemplary performance and results.
Overall Objective of this Position: Provide strategic leadership and management in the development and enhancement of policy and strategy that supports research and planning in the Road Transport Sector.
The position shall report to the Director General.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures for planning, research and managing projects
- Initiate, monitor and evaluate all the Authority’s research and planning projects.
- Generate proposals and supporting documents seeking funding for the Authority’s projects.
- Oversee the development of the Authority’s strategic plan.
- Identification and co-ordination of development partners and agencies.
- Co-ordination and dissemination of research in road transport and safety sector and formulate linkages with other research institutions.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a first degree in Planning, Statistics, Economics or any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Masters degree in relevant field is mandatory.
- PhD or post graduate course in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Possess good communication skills
- Proficiency in ICT.
- Possess work experience of a minimum of ten years, five of which should be at senior management level in a relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience of working with development partners will be essential.
Terms and Conditions:
- Appointments will be for a contractual period of three years renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
- Successful candidates shall be subjected to performance contracting.
- It shall be mandatory for all applicants to attach the following documents with their applications; clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a certificate of good conduct from Criminal Investigations Departments.
