ICT Senior Deputy Director Vacancy at NTSA in Kenya 2014
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established under the National Transport and Safety Authority Act 2012. Its Overall mandate is to implement policies relating to road transport and safety.
The Authority wishes to recruit for the following vacant positions and invites applications from eligible Kenyan citizens who satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
Senior Deputy Director, ICT
The applicants MUST be persons of high integrity with demonstrable track record of exemplary performance and results.
Overall Objective of this Position: Provide strategic and innovative leadership and management of all Information and Communication technology related activities of the Authority.
This position shall report to the Director General.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare strategic and operational plans for information Communication Technology (ICT) department to ensure that all necessary ICT tools, processes and systems are in place to meet the requirements of the Authority and contribute to the achievement of its goals.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology infrastructure in line with the Authority’s goals and changing technologies.
- Manage and provide oversight for the implementation of an ICT system, ICT security strategy and disaster recovery plan that minimizes data loss or unauthorized access.
- Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of all policies related to ICT services including procurement, distribution and assets management.
- Develop and manage the planning and budgeting for the ICT department to ensure that resources are used to provide best in class ICT services that are in line with the Authority’s goals.
- Develop new systems that will enhance access to priority information used by the ministry, the public, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelors degree in ICT, Computer Science or related fields.
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Have working experience of at least seven years five of which should be at senior management level in a recognized institution.
Terms and Conditions:
- Appointments will be for a contractual period of three years renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
- Successful candidates shall be subjected to performance contracting.
- It shall be mandatory for all applicants to attach the following documents with their applications; clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and a certificate of good conduct from Criminal Investigations Departments.
