MSF Kenya Supply Unit Driver / Purchaser and Warehouse Attendants Jobs Opportunities in Nairobi Kenya 2014

Medecins Sans Frontieres is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need.
The Kenya Supply Unit (KSU) is the MSF Regional Supply Centre in East Africa.
The KSU invites applications from suitably qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the following positions based in Nairobi.
 
1. Driver / Purchaser 

(1 Position)

The main objective of the position will be to facilitate local movement, make local purchases and deliver merchandise to mission clients efficiently.
The suitable candidate should be willing to follow set MSF and legal driving and procurement regulations, policies and procedures while safely operating and maintaining the delivery vehicle.
 
Requirements:
  • Valid and clean driving license. (Possession of class BCE will be an added advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of car-mechanics
  • Ability to use radio communication tools (HF and VHF)
  • A good knowledge of Nairobi area and the road network in Nairobi / Kenya
  • Driving and purchasing experience for a Non Governmental Organization will be an added advantage
2. Warehouse Attendants 
(2 Positions)
The main objective of the position is to give assistance to the Warehouse Supervisor in managing and overseeing all the warehousing functions and operations including cargo reception, cargo preparation, loading and offloading, stock management, record keeping, space utilization / goods arrangement, operation of a manual / electrical powered forklift.
The main tasks of the position are highly labor intensive and manual.
 
Requirements:
  • At least one year experience as a Warehouse Attendant
  • Computer literate with practical use of MS-Office, E-mail
  • Certificate in Pharmacy will be an added advantage
  • Fork lift operation skills will be an added advantage

  • Secondary school certificate
  • High level of integrity
  • Team player with ability to pay attention to details (precise)
  • Flexible and able to work in a demanding and challenging work environment
  • Commitment to humanitarian values
  • Possession of a valid certificate of good conduct will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills in English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel outside Nairobi for short term humanitarian assistance
  • Available to start as soon as possible
