Our client, a leading dealer in Toyota motor vehicles is unchallenged in their commercial space.

The company offers a high level of after sales service and at the same time aspires to support the Toyota brand in the used car market segment that is ever growing in the East African region.

In order to grow locally and set up a platform in the region, our client seeks to hire a Sales Manager who will report to the Managing Director.

Job Summary: Oversee the development and management of the sales force of the company.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, direct and control your sales staff to meet sales objectives.
  • Establish a sales objective for the department each month/period
  • Offer salespersons coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives.
  • Making every effort to maximize both present and long term sales targets and gross profits.
  • Supervise sales people to ensure they are doing everything they should be doing to successfully meet their sales targets.
  • Developing the most well trained, professional sales force possible.
  • Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) all customer complaints related to your department.
  • Prepare in advance and conduct regular sales meetings and review the performance of your salespeople and to motivate and stimulate them to even greater achievements.
  • Holds staff accountable to sales objectives, KPI’s and other metrics.
  • Ability to develop strong sales plans and strategies for key accounts and staff.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
  • Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes
  • Degree in Sales and Marketing. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team
  • Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment
