EVENT PLANNER
Introduction
The USAID/Higa Ubeho program is a five-year USAID/PEPFAR- funded program with the goal to increase the use of health and related social support services among the most vulnerable, including orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), people living with HIV and AIDS (PLHA) and their families. The program provides holistic support for vulnerable families through a wide range of services including economic strengthening services for youth. The program will soon announce a new scholarship opportunity to support 3,000 vulnerable youth to enroll in TVET during the 2014 academic year starting in January 2014. Working in partnership with the Private Sector Federation, Global Communities will have a booth at the TVET Expo to promote enrollment in TVET and to receive scholarship applications.
Consultancy Background

A consultant is needed to organize, manage, and coordinate all logistics needed to create a unique, professional, and engaging display during the TVET Expo. The booth (6*9m) will include a station for registering scholarship applicants, and will also include interactive elements (to be proposed by the consultant), i.e. catering students/graduates to serve snacks throughout the week; a plasma TV screen to show the TVET commercial, a display of TVET kits; a table to display program publications related to TVET etc.

Consultancy Deliverables
The consultant(s) will:
• Develop a unique, professional, and engaging layout for the TVET booth.
• Procure/rent all items needed for the expo.
• Organize and manage all logistics – prior to and during the exposition.
• Coordinate with Global Communities staff, beneficiaries & partners to ensure appropriate representation throughout the 10-day expo.
• Orient staff, beneficiaries, and partners on their role during the expo.
Duration of the Assignment
The consultant will complete all of the above deliverables in 15 days, working in partnership with the Communications Manager at Global Communities. (The Expo begins November 28th and all logistics must be set at least 24 hour before the official opening.)
Desired qualifications

• Proven track record of successful event planning & management.
• Experience working in international conventions and expositions.
