Invitation to Participate in a Competition for Designing of County Symbols
The Homa Bay County Government wishes to develop its County Flag and County coat of arms pursuant to the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012 through competition by creative and innovative artists and designers.
The Symbols in the County Flag and Coat of Arms must capture the diversified and socio economic potential of the County of Homa Bay.
The features should depict the following amongst others:-
- County Unity
- Key tourist attractions
- Agricultural, livestock and fishing activities
- Human Resource Development including sports and other cultural activities
The designs presented will be subjected to evaluation and selection by a panel of experts to be appointed by the Office of the Governor, after which the winning designs will be adopted and awarded in order of merit as follows:-
1st position: Kshs. 70,000
2nd position: Kshs. 40,000
3rd position: Kshs. 20,000
The following terms and conditions will apply:
1. The competition is open to the public
2. Each entry must present the two symbols
3. Any material, graphic, software or otherwise submitted by the entrants in the competition shall belong and remain the property of the County Government of Homa Bay.
4. The decision of the experts will be final.
5. Designs should be presented in both hard and soft forms in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Symbols of Homa Bay County” and submitted to;
