Education Programme Management

We seek to recruit the following positions for the “TUSOME” programme which will be rolled out across all primary schools in Kenya to establish the PRIMR Early Grade Reading programme in Standards 1 & 2.

TA: Curriculum & Materials Development
This position is a short term role that will work at the national level with MoEST and other stakeholders to provide technical support and coordination for the revision of the current Early Grade Reading (PRIMR) materials and to develop & adapt supplementary materials for use in schools.
 

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of Early Grade Reading (EGR) and ideally the PRIMR model; demonstrated exemplary management skills to ensure internal coherence among a diverse team and productive relations with other relevant stakeholders; excellent written and oral skills.
 
TA: Teacher Support & Supervision
This position is a full term role for the period of the programme that will work at all levels within the
MoEST and TSC to ensure the designed feedback models & systems are in place to deliver ongoing
and rigorous feedback on PRIMR to st 1 and 2 teachers.
 
Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge and experience of improving teacher practice through lesson observations &
feedback; experience working with the MoEST including relevant SAGAS; demonstrated evidence
of ability to engage with senior individuals; influence them and win their confidence and trust; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated exemplary management skills to ensure internal coherence among diverse team.

TA: Teacher Professional Development

This position is a full term role that will work at the national level, to roll out an intensive PRIMR training schedule for all standard 1 and 2 teachers.
They will also be responsible for supporting the DCoP to deliver the cascade training model to other stakeholders (like education officials, PTTCs and headteachers) and provide ongoing follow up training for the teachers.
 
Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of pre-service and in-service teacher training programs (donor assisted or with the government);in depth knowledge of Early Grade Reading curriculums and ideally the PRIMR model; demonstrated exemplary project management skills to deliver an intense and logistical training programme; excellent management skills to ensure internal coherence among diverse stakeholders; excellent communication skills.
