Position: Product Development Executive (Food Product)

Company Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of food related products and has been in operations for over 50 years.

They are currently looking for suitable candidates to fill the above mentioned position

Principle Roles

  • Participate in the development and design of new products.
  • Direct the implementation of new products from definition phase through implementation.
  • Evaluate existing products for quality continuation, modification or withdrawal.
  • Participate in the development/design and direct implementation of all modifications to existing products.
  • Perform market research to gather and assess information on market demographics, customer needs, competitor products, other market intelligence and regulations to identify and recommend new products and/or modifications to existing products.
  • Researches, recommends and executes new innovative concepts, ingredients, delivery formats, or packaging designs to develop new and improve existing Company Brands products
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts all sensory and physical evaluations of potential new & existing products required for product approval before commercialization to ensure all products meet the desired attributes and quality standards consistent to market, company and regulatory needs.
  • Involvement in pre?production / lab batches/ pilot batches etc to assure challenges encountered in the development process are identified as ‘watch?outs’ for initial production quality assurance efforts.
  • Participate in solving quality challenges and customer complaints in terms of product quality and other non ? compliances
  • Work cooperatively with cross?functional teams like marketing, production, procurement to fulfill product requirements.
  • Take part in NPD committee meetings, material developments , product packaging development etc
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of product formulations, manufacturing, packaging and testing applications of food products
  • Highly organized and self?directed with strong planning & management skills, initiative and drive to meet and exceed departmental and organizational objectives
  • Have capability of utilizing market intelligence and understanding market trends to provide appropriate solutions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements / compliances shall be an added advantage
  • Ability to interpret a Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Communicates with clarity, verbally and in one on one or group situations.
  • Ability to excel in a cross?functional team environment.
Education: University degree in Food science, Chemistry or equivalent with knowledge of food product development.

Experience: Greater than five years of food product development or equivalent experience
