Head of Complaints
Reporting to the Deputy Director Complaints and Legal Services, the jobholder is responsible for the Authority’s Complaints Management Unit, intake of all complaints and notifications.
- Developing and managing the Authority’s complaints management database;
- Supervising mediation and alternative dispute resolutions;
- Participating in reviews and the formulation of complaint policies and practices;
- Leading discussions on complaints management and development processes,
- Organising and maintaining data used to develop policy recommendations and reports and act as the Authority’s central reference resource on the same.
- a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Social sciences, Public Policy Development or Law.
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years managerial experience.
- A certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution will be an added advantage.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Complaints and Legal Services, the jobholder is responsible for the Authority’s Legal Management Unit and provision of Legal support.
- Leading or participating in conducting legal assignments and projects;
- Liaising with external agencies on legal matters affecting the Authority;
- Representation in legal, civil and criminal court proceedings;
- Participating in reviews and the formulation of legal policies and practices;
- Leading discussions of legal concepts and development processes, risks and opportunities; and
- a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Postgraduate qualification in law.
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in a busy and large public or corporate organisation.
- Must be a member of Law society of Kenya in possession of a valid practicing law certificate.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, the jobholder is responsible for carrying out legal assignments and providing administrative legal support.
- Assist in conducting legal assignments and projects;
- Follow up with external agencies on legal matters affecting the Authority;
- Assist in legal, civil and criminal court proceedings;
- Participating in reviews and the formulation of legal policies and practices;
- Participate discussions of legal concepts and development processes, risks and opportunities;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Postgraduate qualification in law
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a busy and large public or corporate organisation.
- Must be a member of Law society of Kenya with a valid practicing law certificate.
Reporting to the Head of Complaints, the jobholder is responsible for providing professional counselling support to IPOA complainants and staff.
- Developing policies and guidelines that supports IPOA objectives on counselling;
- Follow up counselling matters that need resolutions and write quarterly and annual reports;
- Provide advice on counselling related matters and action required to management;
- Carryout debriefing and referrals on issues of counselling;
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Postgraduate qualification in counselling Psychology
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years counselling experience in a busy environment.
- Must be a member of relevant professional body.
Reporting to the Head Complaints the jobholder is responsible for in taking and compiling all complaints and notifications.
- Keep complaints management database;
- Update complaints as they are received;
- Liaise with the complaints client and inform status accordingly;
- Keep track and inform the unit on complaints to be handled ,
- Organising and maintaining reports on complaints.
- A Diploma in Law or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years work experience in a complaint related environment.
- Those with a degree and have worked in a complaints handling environment will have an added advantage
- Must be a person of good ethical behaviour and ability to handle confidential matters.
