Call for Proposals for Gender Integration in Horticulture

The USAID-Kenya Horticulture Competitiveness Project (KHCP) is working with 200,000 farmers to improve incomes, food security and nutrition and build a highly competitive horticulture industry.

USAID-KHCP collaborates with local partners to deliver a wide range of commercial and technical services across all of the key crops for export and local markets.

USAID-KHCP is seeking proposals from non-profit organizations or private sector business entities with extensive experience providing services directly to smallholder farmers, especially women.
Organizations with a proven track record in innovative gender integration approaches and activities are invited to submit a concept note to work with USAID-KHCP. Interventions will aim to achieve real transformative change in economic empowerment, including decision making and resource allocation.
Applicants should submit a maximum 2-page concept idea that describes their comparative advantage, expertise and suggested methodologies to practical gender capacity building and a broad methodology to achieve tangible results within a one-year period. Geographic focus must be within eastern and western Kenya only.
Send applications to khcp-grants@fintrac.com before August 19, 2013.
