Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above Fixed Term Appointment in UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office, Nairobi.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake analysis of regional and national data related to WASH status, trends, and relationships with other sectors (e.g. education, health).
- In cooperation with RO colleagues and COs identify and develop syntheses of relevant lessons learned and country cases (e.g. field notes, technical briefs, advocacy papers).
- Support the ESARO WASH section in coordinating the implementation of KM initiatives in the regional office and country offices.
- Support the introduction of new concepts of collaboration, knowledge creation and sharing, such as communities of practice or virtual workspaces
- Support the ESARO WASH section in contractual matters, provide technical inputs and represent the section at relevant technical meetings when required.
- Work with the Communications section and HQ colleagues on linking internal KM to external dissemination
- Advanced University Degree in a WASH-related field (including engineering, physical sciences, social sciences, public health and education).
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in WASH.
- Individual must have experience in data and statistical analysis and should have worked on such projects for at least 3 years.
