Our client is a reputable company in the Tourism & Hospitality industry. They wish to recruit an Property Manager.
Property Manager Job Responsibilities
- Planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services;
- Promoting and aggressively marketing the business;
- Placing more emphasis on the marketing of Long Lets of 3 bedroom apartments to Corporates
- Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure;
- Maintaining statistical and financial records with the assistance of the Finance & HR Officer;
- Setting and achieving sales and profit targets;
- Analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies;
- Recruiting, identifying training needs, training and monitoring staff with the assistance of the HR Officer;
- Ensuring individual performance is measured and feedback given using the Performance Evaluation Forms within the specified timelines given with assistance of the HR Officer;
- Planning work schedules for individuals and teams;
- Meeting and greeting customers;
- Ensuring guests have a pleasurable experience staying with us;
- Dealing with customer complaints and comments;
- Addressing problems and troubleshooting;
- Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly;
- Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings;
- Dealing with contractors and suppliers
- Ensuring security is effective;
- Carrying out inspections of property, it’s assets and services;
- Oversee and ensure that up-to date records of the premises and equipment are maintained;
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
Qualifications for the Property Manager Job
- At least 7+ years of relevant experience;
- A degree in the following disciplines would be highly advantageous: Apartments, Hotel and hospitality management; Business administration or management; Travel, tourism or leisure studies.
You will need to have:
- A friendly personality and genuine desire to help and please others;
- Experience and understanding of the apartments long let market in Nairobi
- The ability to think clearly, problem solve and make quick decisions;
- Use of Fidelio/Opera System (or other Hospitality Systems) including Front Office, Materials Control, Point of Sale, etc. and how these systems relate to accounting software
- Numeracy, analytical ability, logistical planning skills;
- Project Management, Sales, Integrity and Leadership skills;
- A professional manner and calm, rational approach in hectic situations;
- The ability to balance customer and business priorities;
- Flexibility and a ‘can do’ mentality;
- Energy and patience;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
