Laikipia Nature Conservancy began as a ranch and later transitioned into a wildlife conservancy under the umbrella of the Gallmann Memorial Foundation. The conservancy is located on the western side of Laikipia and covers an estimated 100,000 acres.

The landscape includes the impressive Mukutan Gorge, rolling hills, grasslands and indigenous relic forest, the only one of its kind in the area. The abundance of water in the conservancy is attributed to 62 man-made lakes, Mukutan River, waterfalls and natural springs, few of which are thermal hot springs.

The Laikipia Nature Conservancy & Gallmann Memorial Foundation are seeking a Security Driver. The position will be field based at the Laikipia Nature Conservancy in West Laikipia.

Key Tasks for the Security Driver Job

• Responsible for the safe operation, usage and maintenance of the assigned vehicles.
• Transport Rangers and other staff to designated areas as per Company Policies and Regulations.
• Ensures all duties as driver of the assigned vehicle are performed in adherence with local traffic laws.
• Responsible for accounting for each trip, record-keeping and attendant paperwork from each trip using Company Vehicle Log
• Book to ensure vehicle usage activities comply with Company Rules and Regulations.
• Reports any problem identified in the vehicle and also ensures all licenses and documents relating to the vehicle are renewed on time and as required.
• Supports the implementation of safety approaches, procedures and protocols delineated by Security Manager regarding travel, safety and security.
• Reports and advises on any risks and/or incidents that may impact Company relating to travel, safety and security.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Security Manager.

Security Driver Job Qualifications

• Should have at least a Form 4 (K.C.S.E) certificate.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in security services, police force, military police or other relevant military operations with a safe driving record is an added advantage.
• Previous training and experience as Team Driver would be beneficial.
• Must be Computer literate.

Personal skills and attributes required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
• Friendly and able to deal Professionally with other workers while on site
• Ability to make good judgment on Rangers/ Staff safety and provide appropriate advice.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
