Job Vacancy: Project Officer – Kakamega
KANCO is regional membership network of organizations including: Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs), Community Based Organization (CBOs), Faith Based Organization (FBOs), Private Sector, Research and Learning Institutions responding to HIV & AIDS and TB in Kenya.
It is also accredited as a Linking Organization with the International HIV & AIDS Alliance.
Its mission is to provide leadership, promote collaboration and enhance capacity among Civil Society organizations (CSOs) and other stakeholders to respond to HIV & AIDS, TB other public Health concerns at community level.
Guided by the vision of healthy people, empowered communities, over time KANCO has evolved to become a premier agency for sensitizing, mobilizing and promoting collaboration among civil society organizations (CSOs) working in the region.
KANCO is recruiting a Project Officer – Linkages who will be based in Kakamega .
S/he will be responsible of planning, implementation and reporting of Linkages project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating the implementation of linkages project activities targeting female sex workers(FSWs) and men having sex with men (MSMs)
- Monitoring Linkages Project activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data, and involving the team (and where applicable local health authorities) in analysis and taking appropriate action as needed to ensure continued progress.
- Developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with County relevant GOK Ministries,CSO’s and other relevant local stakeholders within the areas of operation.
- Coordinating of peer educators to ensure mobilization is done and reports are submitted on time.
- Develop clear monthly work plans based on approved quarterly project work plans with clear objectives/deliverables based on target.
- Developing and submitting quality, accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the donor in accordance with donor guidelines.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the management
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Social sciences or related field.
- 3 years work experience in Project Management with demonstrated success in project planning, financial management, program monitoring, report writing, identifying and procuring technical assistance.
- Familiarity with Key population Programming
- Work experience in HIV and AIDS care and treatment for Key population
