Systems Administrator 
1 Position – Nairobi
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Group ICT Manager, the job holder will be responsible for planning, installing, building, managing, supporting, configuring and testing server infrastructure components and connectivity to ensure stable operation of the organization’s IT assets.
This includes, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing server and UEC hardware, software, and operating systems.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of IT departmental strategies to align with the overall business strategy as well as corporate strategy.
  • Provide primary system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the servers environment and performance issues including but not limited to Active Directory, Exchange, MS SQL and hypervisors.
  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
  • Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Perform system changes following existing change management policies.
  • Develop tools, procedures, and training sessions for Operations, Client Support and general staff to assist with work.
  • Manage the data Centre and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.
  • Offer second level support to all UEC configured software problems and challenges
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery configurations are at par with technical considerations and stipulated Group’s policies and procedures.
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for Siginon to take advantage of new technology.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time
Education, Professional Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology.
  • At least 4 years’ work experience in a busy IT busy environment.
  • ICT Professional certification/s.
  • Minimum of KCSE C- (minus).

IT Technical Support Officers 
2 Positions – Nairobi & Mombasa
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Group ICT Manager, the job holder will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software.
Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions that deliver stable operation of the organization’s IT assets.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel / service provider and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Provide excellent customer service to IT users.
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs and follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
  • Analyze call logs to spot trends and underlying issues.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time
Education, Professional Qualifications & Work experience
  • Bachelor degree/Diploma in Information Technology.
  • At least 2 years’ work experience in a busy IT busy environment.
  • ICT Certification/s.
  • Minimum of KCSE C- (minus).
