The Electroplating Technician will be expected to:

The Electroplating Technician will be expected to:
- Maintain proper specifications of electroplating baths in our shop by performing routine solution analysis of each for concentration, pH level, and temperature.
- Carry out solution brightener calculations using amp-minutes and adjust as required and ensure chemical additions to solutions determined from chemical analysis
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, reagents, standards, lab ware and disposables. Ensure routine calibration of equipment used in EP
- Ensure safe working environment in the workshop by availing PPE to visitors, ensure safety signage, and train new EP staff on safety.
- Support safe and ideal electroplating processes on Soko products and ensure quality of finished products.
- Carry out maintenance every morning before beginning daily activities
- Solution maintenance including dumping and remaking the electroplating solutions
- Keep detailed, organized records and complete required documentation for the associated tests and maintenance
- Act as the custodian of all lab equipment, tools and inventory.
- Carry out weekly stock taking and ensure healthy levels of all inputs.
- Maintain a clean work area as well as understand and execute proper disposal of wastes
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Safety policies within the shop.
- Ensure all products are processed within set timelines.
- Properly label chemicals and reagents with all needed quality documentation
- Other duties as may be assigned to you by your Manager. This may include the need to work late or during weekends.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- A diploma or above in analytical chemistry or related field.
- Analytical laboratory skills (such as weighing and titration)
- Knowledge on electrical circuits is an added advantage.
- Experience in using basic computer applications.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or Workshop operations is preferred. Candidates with experience in electroplating related industry will have an added advantage.
