A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice.

Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development programmes. Now we’re looking for yours.
The Regional Centre provides oversight in the Horn, East and Central Africa region (HECA) which comprises Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Somalia, Burundi and Rwanda.
What you will do
You will promote public health innovation and learning right across the region, building the technical capacity of our country teams and partners to design and implement quality water and sanitation interventions.
We’ll expect you to take the lead on long-term strategic thinking and operational planning.
And when disaster strikes, you’ll make sure that we’re ready for it – and that we have all the right kind of public health initiatives in place.

Experience of working in complex emergency situations is important too.
We’ll also be looking for a background in integrated public health programming with an emphasis on engineering and a proven understanding of health promotion approaches and methodologies.
