Our client is a Security Print Solutions company offering a wide range and growing list of products to the Telecommunication, Financial, Public, Educational Institutions and Commercial sectors.
They are seeking to recruit a Production Manager, Mechanical Fitter and a Graphic Designer.
Mechanical Fitter
Job Purpose: Fits and assembles metal parts and sub-assemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment
Duties and Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance:
- Making scheduled checks on machinery and parts
- Finding and fixing faults, and recalibrating instruments
- Oiling and cleaning machinery and parts
- Carrying out scheduled overhaul and replacing parts that have reached the end of their working life
Emergency maintenance:
- Responding immediately to machinery breakdowns
- Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement equipment to be installed.
General work
- Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment
- Operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planing, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components
- Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts
- Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
- Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Diploma in mechanical engineer
- Five years’ experience of mechanical fitting in a printing field
- Physical fitness to handle the job requirements
Production Manager
Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to accomplish the highest quality of products in the production processes and ensure production is fully achieved in time and in compliance with all requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on budgeting, forecasting and actual product cost analysis compared to proposed
- Examining finished samples and approving quality before delivery to client
- Recommending efficient, time-saving project production flows
- Communicate effectively with management, the Sales Team, and the Production Team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that production, sales, and customer objectives are met.
- Responsible for all new job sampling, until the final product is confirmed by the production team.
- Participate in technical development of new and existing products
- Ensures control of costs through implementing cost friendly procurement policies
- Reviews and improve staff responsibilities within the production unit
- Take part in the performance appraisal of production staff and assist in performance improvement strategies
- Ensures that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable and efficient manner, preserving the environment
- Ensures that the preventive maintenance plans are prepared & executed
- Ensure compliance in regulations for the waste disposal and recycling requirement(s).
- Monitor the daily production and labor reporting paperwork for efficiency purposes
- Developing quality criteria, tests and inspections of job requests in liaison with the Quality Assurance officer
- Drive continuous improvement through the international adopted standards (ISO)
- Any other related duties assigned
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Diploma in printing technology
- At least five years’ experience in management in printing field is added advantage handling technologies e.g. flexo, letter press, variable data, etc.
- Technical knowledge in mechanical engineering (printing machines) will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in ISO standards- Quality management systems.
Graphic Designer
Job Purpose: The Graphic designer is expected to create or reproduce graphic designs using computer software to meet customer specifications.
He/she will develop the layout and artwork design for various security print products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing customers proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production
- Working with internal managers, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales
- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
- Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
- Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
- Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality
- Content generation and refinement
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Diploma in Graphic design
- 3 years’ or more experience in graphic designing
- Possession of creative skills, conceptual and visual ability to originate design
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
- Knowledge in use of various software and technologies used to design
- Cognizance of time, cost and deadlines
