ICT Support Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible for management, coordination and fulfillment of IT related projects, exercises, upgrades and enhancements as well as end user support services under the direction of Technology Services Manager. 

Keeping up to date with existing and new company standards to ensure compliance. 
Research and development into new technologies and solutions within company standards and guidelines.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Day to day delivery of IT services at selected regional offices.
  1. Ensure resolution of user problems and fulfillment of service requests within SLAs
  2. Coordinate the Onboarding/Off boarding/Transfer IT process for associates
  3. Ensure effective use of End User Productivity Services and Training Coordination
  4. Ensure compliance to IT policies and procedures.
  5. Preparations of various reports
  • Project Management and Coordination
  1. Implementation of IT infrastructure in-line with Groups ICT standards
  • Vendor Management
  1. Maintain effective working relationship with IT Vendors
  • IT Controls for Audit compliance
  1. DRP planning and testing
  2. Licensing compliance of all software products
  3. Manage and keep auditable records of IT assets
Organization Impact/ Influence:
Extensive high level, strategic and operational interaction with:
  • Groups associates in East Africa Franchise
  • ICT team
  • Groups ICT vendors and service providers
  • Groups DSS and BO helpdesks
Nature and purpose of the interaction:
  • End user support services.
Management of locally and internationally sourced products, services and IT projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Vendors (including On-Site Technicians) & Suppliers
Related Job Requirements / Qualifications

Technical Skills:
  • Project management

  • Server and workstation hardware and software installation and configuration
  • Networking skills. (LAN, WAN & W-LAN)
  • Audio visual equipment
  • Extensive troubleshooting and problems solving skills
  • General IT literacy

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience within a corporate IT environment.
Educational & Other Requirements:
  • A university degree in ICT related field would be an advantage
  • CCNA and MCSE or similar qualifications would be an advantage
  • Project management course or qualification.
  • Need to be contactable and available outside normal working hours (Via mobile phone, e-mail etc.)
  • Occasional working hours on weekends and after hours.
Analysis:
  • Resolving issues with cooperation and communications between various role players around the world for IT projects, exercises and tasks
  • Development and implementation of technical IT solutions within projects, exercises and tasks
  • Managing IT Management as well as End users expectations
