Expression of Interest for Provision of Kenya Sign Language Training

1.0. Background
The National Council for Persons with Disabilities is a State Corporation established under the Persons with Disabilities Act No. 14 of 2003 to champion for the rights of Persons with Disabilities in Kenya. 
Under Section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, the Council is mandated to provide or contribute to the cost of assistive devices and services.

 

As a way of enhancing access to services provided by various government functionaries to the public, NCPWD established the Kenya Sign Language Programme in May 2012.
Since then the Council has managed to sponsor the training of 127 trainees who include nurses, police officers and social workers.
The Council is preparing to sponsor the next intake of trainees. 
In this regard, the Council is seeking for a consulting institution/organization to provide Kenya Sign Language training to workers in critical service sectors (including nurses, police officers, customer care and social workers) in Kenya Sign Language.

2.0. Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Institutions/organizations are invited to submit their interest in providing the training.
The Expression of Interest must include information establishing the institution/organization as qualified and/or experienced to offer training in Kenya Sign Language at all levels. 
(Information could include experience in conducting similar training, capacity in terms of space, learning materials and qualified staff.

Interested and eligible bidders are required to view/obtain/download more details of the expression of interest from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities website www.ncpwd.go.ke free of charge.

Expression of interest clearly marked “Expression of Interest for provision of Kenya Sign Language training Ref. No. NCPWD/PROC/01/2015/2016 with the instructions “Do not open before 23rd November, 2015 at 11.00 am” should be addressed to:

and deposited in the Tender Box located at the reception of the NCPWD Kabete office, along Waiyaki way, opposite ABC Place, next to Kabete Army Barracks on Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.30 pm or be delivered to the address above so as to be received on or before Monday, 23rd November, 2015 at 11.00 am. 
Late submissions shall automatically be disqualified.

Expressions of Interest will be opened soon thereafter at NCPWD Kabete office along Waiyaki way, in the presence of tenderers and/or their representatives who may wish to attend.
