Our client is a fast growing community microfinance institution.
They seek to hire a Sales & Marketing Manager to build and develop a high performing team through managing organization’s sales & marketing, product development, research and revenue generation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Sales &Marketing (40%)
- Reporting sales trends daily, weekly and monthly as well as prospective business pipelines
- Setting sales target for the DSR’s on products, assets and liabilities
- Supervising the direct sales representatives and ensuring they deliver the desired results
- Mapping potential customers and generating leads for the organization
- Planning, developing and implementing marketing strategies
- Planning events, guiding and implementation of major events
- Liaising with, answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, and distributing press releases to targeted media
- Organizing interviews with selected media houses
- Develop and maintain the company’s corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage
- Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs and films
- Maintaining and updating information on the organization’s website
- Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis
Product Development (30%)
- Develop new products in the bank according to the bank’s strategy
- Identify market opportunities
- Achieve profitability objectives by ensuring product performance through identification and implementation of revenue generation cost reduction opportunities
- Lead the development from conceptualization till launch of new products and services designed to deliver superior value for customers and profitability
- Presenting the new products and ideas for review and approval. Managing the product development processes, including the testing phase of the product
- Monitor and manage the customer satisfaction with regard to products and ensure delivery of value added products and services
- Conducting training sessions on the new products to staff
- Manage the launching of new products
Review Existing Products (10%)
- Monitoring the market and reviewing the existing products continuously
- Managing the product restructuring process
- Planning and managing promotional campaigns for the existing products
- Reporting on the performance in the market of the existing products to senior management
- Preparation of annual marketing budgets for the products
Research (15%)
- General research on customer satisfaction, product performance and general marketing positioning on a regular and timely schedule
- Proactively develop and improve products and services by researching industry and related events
- Monitoring industry statistics and following trends and bank industry literature.
- Gathering data on competitors and analyzing their strategies, tariffs, customer service and policies
- Provide market intelligence surveys on product rating, brand positioning and media relations
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in sales/ Marketing or a related field.
- At least 5 years experience in business development with at least 2 in banking/microfinance sector
- Experience in leadership, must demonstrate capacity to build a team.
- Self-starter, assertive and interpersonally effective.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively conduct community outreach and engage with small scale traders, business owners and other market segments
