Project Summary: Resilience and Economic Growth in Arid Lands-Improving Resilience (REGAL-IR) is a 5-year program sponsored by USAID / Kenya and Feed the Future (Ftf) to reduce hunger and poverty, increase social stability and build strong foundations for economic growth amongst pastoralists and transitioning pastoralists in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs).
Position Purpose: The M&E Data Collector will be based in respective county offices of REGAL-IR, the position will report to the County Senior Project Officer or M&E Data Analyst as applicable.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of Senior Project Officer, support project teams to carry out M&E activities implementation in REGAL-IR project areas.
- Support project monitoring activities by collecting essential data related to project performance as per the guided framework.
- Work closely with M&E unit of REGAL-IR on all issues pertaining to the project monitoring and evaluation protocols.
- Conduct joint field visits to the communities served by the project to collect M&E data from individual beneficiaries and groups / institutions as applicable.
- Ensure county level filing of activity records and other performance indicators records as per required standards.
- Closely with community facilitators of REGAL-IR to ensure quality of information / data sets processed by field teams.
- Support data entry processes as guided by M&E unit and contribute to the data verification processes through RDQA mechanisms.
- Bachelor or Diploma in social field or equivalent experience.
- One or more years of experience in projects implemented by NGOs and/or in M&E field with experience in data collection and compilation.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and community mobilization skills.
- Adequate verbal and written skills in English and languages of northern Kenya region.
- Adequate computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel skills.
- Willing to travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
- Work experience in ASALs environment and northern region of Kenya is preferred.
