Head of Credit Risk
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for management of credit risk to facilitate growth of a quality loan book in line with the Bank’s strategic goals.
 

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Credit Risk Team in providing the necessary support to Business teams.
  • Facilitate processing of credit applications to support business targets aimed at growing business volume and increasing the Bank’s market share.
  • Research and obtain sufficient and appropriate information for evaluating business risk.
  • Review / recommend /approve credit applications in compliance with the Bank’s Credit Policy & CBK Prudential Guidelines
  • Review credit policy, guidelines and procedures to ensure they are consistent with prudent credit policy procedures
  • Increase efficiency in internal business processes, operational controls & risk management and ensure compliance to service level agreements with the various business units.
  • Actively participate in monitoring and controlling the credit portfolio.
  • Facilitate implementation and review of credit scoring and internal rating models.
  • Continuously develop staff by providing feedback and relevant training to improve productivity & efficiency.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the credit function of a Bank.
  • Good understanding of credit policies & procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of business environment and financial markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team management & communication skills.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure, conflicting priorities and manage constant changes.
