The Media Owners Association (MOA) is an authoritative umbrella body drawing membership from leading media houses and organisations in Kenya.
We are seeking out the services of a well experienced, visionary leader with a clear track record in media, law and business management to spearhead strategy and efficient delivery of our mandate as follows:-
Chief Executive Officer
Ref: MOA 001/CEO
Reporting to the Chairman and the MOA Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for directing, driving and controlling all business strategy, in networking for the MOA to create significant competitive advantage for all member organizations, ensure statutory compliance, and in making a notable difference in the country and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise regular meetings of the MOA, including the specialised committees.
- Lobby government and the private sector to advance media interests.
- Shape legislation affecting media through lobbying and networking with key stakeholders.
- Ensure media best practice.
- Coordinate with educational institutions on media training and development programmes.
- Liaise and build affiliations with other stakeholders, donors and international media organisations.
Qualifications
- MBA degree or related Master’s degree with a key focus on media, business management, media law, leadership, strategic management or related field.
- Professional qualifications in journalism is an added advantage.
- At least 5 years in a similar role or in senior management in a related sector with a proven track record.
- Working understanding of P&L of a business or division in competitive markets
- Experience in marketing is an added advantage.
- Excellent understanding of digital marketing and digital broadcasting opportunities.
Personal Competence
- Advanced leadership, administration and management skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency, project management software, customer service database understanding and knowledge of how to utilize computer systems to organise, plan and as an effective business tool.
- Seasoned presentation and communication skills, a creative and articulate individual who inspires confidence.
- Strong business acumen as well as a bird’s eye view as well as detailed understanding of risk management.
- Excellent team coaching and mentoring skills.
- Impeccable personal integrity.
- A highly self-driven individual used to working with deadlines.
