Our client is a private accredited Kindergarten School that offers a friendly, conducive teaching and learning environment with an array of extra-curriculum activities that are meant to make learning fun for the children.
The head teacher will oversees the operations of the kindergarten School including curriculum development and classroom teaching to achieve excellence and holistic development of young children and ensure adequate preparation in their respective classes and examinations.
Our Client is looking for a young, energetic, visionary and passionate individual to fill the position of a Kindergarten School Headmistress.
 
Job Purpose / Summary: The Headmistress shall provide professional leadership for the school which secures its success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its pupils and good standards of learning and achievement are met and adhered at all times.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that curriculum development is above board and classroom teaching is up to standard geared towards excellence and a holistic development of the young children.
  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of the formal education curriculum and impart knowledge, skills, develop personality and character that will provide a lasting and inspiring impact on the lives of pupils to develop a positive attitude.
  • Offer strategic direction and lead in the development of the school as per the outlined strategic plan.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the schools standards of teaching and learning.
  • Manage the staff by providing leadership.
  • Ensure efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources.
  • Ensure accountability for all the resources at the school’s disposal.
  • Safeguard the children and oversee the enrolment process.
  • Implement resolutions, policies and procedures passed by the school’s Board.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education will be an added advantage.
  • P1 certificate and minimum of C+ at O level education.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing the operations of a private school with at least 4 years’ experience as a teacher.
  • Proven experience teaching the Montessori curriculum
  • Good people management and organisational skills.
  • Proven track record in academic performance.
  • Must be computer literate.
