Vacancy: Regional Partnerships Adviser for East Africa

Contract Length: 24 months
The Role: The purpose of the Regional Partnerships Adviser role is to support and promote the partnership approach in Save the Children in East Africa, including conducting an analysis and assessment of current partners and partnership opportunities across the region.

Additionally, this role will have a dedicated focus on Ethiopia country program for six months.
This role will be to strengthen SCI’s ability to deliver on partnerships along the lines of the SC Partnership Principles, Global Partnership Framework, Quality Framework and funding members’ programming priorities in East Africa.
Qualifications and Experience
 
Essential
  • Higher Education (Master’s Degree) in relevant social science, international development, monitoring and evaluation, or a related topic
  • Commitment to Save the Children values.
  • At least 10 years working experience in development and/or humanitarian field, with at least 5 years’ experience in partnership based programming.
  • Knowledge of child- and human-rights frameworks, including rights-based programming.
  • Experience with working in or with fragile states
  • Knowledge about and understanding of working with child and youth led organisations
  • Knowledge about core elements of approaches to working in partnerships, including capacity strengthening
  • Excellent training/facilitation, negotiation, conflict handling, presentation, networking and communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset, analytical, innovative and creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to team work and understanding of how to contribute to this
  • Willingness to extensive travel
  • English language fluency, both spoken and written.
