Material Resource Planner and Buyer Job Opportunity in Kenya 2015

Our Client is in the manufacturing industry currently recruiting a Material Resource Planner and Buyer

The person will be responsible for the technical aspects of manufacturing, quality requirements and alternative supply of spare part components.

  • Maintain supplier contract management; Confidentiality Contracts, Local SLA’s, Global Agreements and Tender handling obligations, continuously improving, implementing and functionality thereof.
  • Implement controls and overall responsibility of transparent and fair tender awarding.
  • Soliciting competitive offers through requests for proposals, requests for quotations and requests for information in adherence with company policy and processes.
  • Maintaining and sourcing a suitable and diverse pool of suppliers.
  • Monitor expenditures of high value purchases ensuring processes and authorizations are adhered to.
  • Place purchase orders with allocated suppliers (local and international) for both stocked items and ad-hoc purchases as required;
  • Assist to expedite overdue orders and follow up on urgent orders
  • Assist  Co-ordinators, warehouse, accounts and service departments with queries, follow up and provide the relevant feedback;
  • Update and data capture information into the ERP system as required.
  • In-charge of stock take, ensure that stock take is timely and accurately done
  • Update and define stock parts in combination with setting reorder points and safety stock, Optimize optimal levels in stores
  • Create reports for KPI’s; analyses the KPI and take an appropriate action
Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Financial management skills (including project management, stores/warehousing, materials distribution)
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary complex projects
  • Knowledge of contracts and tendering processes
  • Understand technical drawings and plant layouts/plans in all various disciplines and scopes of work
  • Solid problem solving skills and ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals
Qualifications and education required
  • Diploma in purchasing
  • 3 – 5 years technical purchasing and contracts experience
  • Very good negotiation skills
  • Experience in the beverage industry

  • Solution orientated and results driven
  • Professional liaison with all levels of management and technical customers both internally and externally
