Position Overview: As a leader of a team, the Sales Director must have excellent sales and technical skills, subject matter expertise and serve as a coach to their team.

They must ensure overall employee satisfaction and productivity, in order to deliver strategic and operational business excellence.

Role and Responsibilities

Sales Directors directly manage their team to identify, support and bring to closure opportunities for solution sales.

Work requirements and tasks will be guided by the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual which is reviewed periodically .

1. Solution Development

  • Lead the team and drive the solution/vertical alignment, value driven prospect engagements and closure of opportunities
  • Provide technical design and frameworks for performance optimization, scalability, security, and reusability with the market.
  • Identify and align solution features and functions to solve key business needs within markets
  • Responsible for establishing operating procedures, work assignments, planning, and all project management activities.
2. Revenue Generation
  • Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.
  • Develop relationships with partners and managing all clients.
  • Manage and coach the team to develop leads, actively target and follow-up with clients, identify and prioritize profitable business opportunities in liaison and with the support of the Corporate.
  • Define and align the go to market strategy for each solution and appropriately execute a sales plan with the on ground sales team.
  • Promote Techno Brain as a company in the market to ensure brand recognition and awareness.
3. Leadership
  • Performance Management: Manage employee performance e.g. Weekly/monthly continuous performance discussions and provision of feedback. Translate strategy into executable plans while motivating your team with clear direction by setting clear goals and KPIs each quarter.
  • Succession Planning:  Develop the next leadership bench in your team through identifying and working with HR in developing your team’s talent potential e.g. coach, mentor and facilitate development of direct reports.
  • Behavioural Role Model: Emulate Techno Brain’s corporate values through your behaviour such as rewarding and voicing support for good behaviours as much as you reward technical competence.
  • Team Engagement: Engage their employees and manage diversity within the workplace by encouraging and personally participating in employee engagement activities.
Experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in the ICT industry, preferably management positions.
  • Overall 6 –8 years’ experience in the IMS industry with a thorough understanding of Identity solution systems in Corporate, NGO and public sector verticals.
  • Past experience in Identity & access control, Biometrics implementation and sales in Africa.
  • Domain knowledge in a specific technology.
  • Deep marketing knowledge for a specific solution.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in IT, Computer science or engineering.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
