Solidarites International (SI) is an international non-governmental organization which provides humanitarian assistance to population affected by natural disaster or man-made crisis.
For more than 30 years, SI has concentrated its action on meeting three vital needs: Water, Food and Shelter. In the Horn of Africa, SI is currently implementing Food Security, Livelihoods support as well as Water and Sanitation projects in Somalia and Kenya.

The main objective of the project is to contribute to addressing the acute and protracted needs of conflict and natural disaster affected populations in Elwak and Luuq districts in Gedo Region, South Somalia.

Specifically the project aims at providing lifesaving WaSH and food security interventions for natural disaster and conflict affected households, while protecting their livelihood strategies from future shocks.
 

Result 1: Conflict and natural disaster affected IDPs and host communities in targeted districts have improved their access to safe water and adoption of key hygiene practices through emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities.
Result 2: Conflict and disaster affected IDPs and vulnerable households in host communities of targeted districts have increased access to food through the promotion of sustainable farming practices and the provision of emergency food assistance.
