Senior Malaria Manager Job recruitment in Kenya June 2014

 

Our client is looking for an experienced individual to take up the role of Senior Manager, Malaria in our Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Division. 
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in malaria program management and relevant public health issues.

You will develop and implement malaria program activities with specific oversight on the achievement of Malaria donor deliverables. 
Key successes in this position will include the achievement of program deliverables, successful implementation of Malaria program activities and improvement of key behaviours.
 

In addition to this you will:

  • Coordinate the implementation of Malaria program activities and regularly review progress to ensure key program deliverables are being met.
  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the malaria marketing plan.
  • Effectively manage program budgets and manage costs and spending.
  • Participate in Malaria project design and funding proposal development.
  • Support and represent the Malaria program in relevant forums and ensure the organisation is strategically aligned towards addressing future emerging Malaria priorities.
  • Identify and map the available resources for Malaria and ensure alignment of programs.
  • Liaise with Research and Metrics department to identify and implement research needs.
  • Ensure M&E systems and the management information systems (MIS) meet the programs information needs and support evidenced based programming.
  • Manage conceptualisation, development, placement and monitoring of multi-media communication campaign initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relations with external stakeholders particularly the Ministry of Health and donors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly donor reports;
  • Manage and supervise direct reports
Minimum requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Communications or equivalent.
  • At least eight (8) years’ relevant experience, three (3) of which must be in programme and project management at a mid to senior level.
  • Strategic thinker with well developed analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • A strong leader with demonstrable skills in driving change and innovation.
  • Strong communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills.
