Sales Manager – FMCG Products – Nairobi Region
Salary Range is Ksh 40,000-55,000

Our company is a national distributor of high quality energy-efficient and affordable household products to the Bottom of the Pyramid – BOP in Kenya and aims to introduce a range of the FMCG product in Nairobi.

Overall Job Purpose: Reporting to the CEO, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing the sales business strategy and activities for his or her region. 

The job holder will provide leadership and expertise to deliver efficient and focused sales strategies in order to achieve the Company’s strategy, growth and profit objectives and will be responsible for managing a team of the sales staff.

Key Result Areas
  • Contribute to the setting of area sales targets in line with the company objectives.
  • Plan, organize, direct and manage direct report sales staff to meet these objectives.
  • Ensure that sales team and each individual achieves month on month sales volume targets by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) your weekly sales written work plan. 
  • Work closely with distribution partners to ensure effective supply of product to second line wholesale customers and retail shops.
  • Lead and motivate your team and monitor each sales person’s daily performance and guide their development to achieve their full potential through coaching, counselling, advice and support 
  • Review and advice on financial data that affects your department’s profit centers weekly or as frequently as needed.
  • Develop sales channel partners and constantly recruit new customers and channels of sales.
  • Manage trade advertising, merchandising and sales promotions within established budgets.
  • Provide, review and advise on market intelligence and customer trends that indicate where additional opportunities exist or assistance might be needed.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to increase consumption of our products and implement sales interventions aligned with the marketing strategies
  • Create Collaborative relationships with all our Partners/Stakeholders in the business
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • Degree or Diploma in Business Related Courses.
  • Over 3 years’ experience is sales with 2 years of experience in sales management in FMCG products.
  • Proven track record in sales of the FMCG products
  • Proven leadership and track record in managing and directing sales teams to meet and exceed agreed goals.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment
  • Hands on experience on direct sales with good supervisory skill 
  • Strong business acumen and negotiations skills
  • Computer Proficiencies
