Knowledge Transfer Centre General Manager Job Opening in Kenya June 2014

Our client is looking for a seasoned individual to take up the role of General Manager – Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC) to manage and oversee the training centre operations. 
They have operations which cut across the Eastern Africa countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi and Rwanda, the Southern Africa countries of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola and Mozambique, the Western African countries of Ghana and Nigeria and Portugal in Europe.

This role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).Further details concerning the role are as follows:
 

Job Purpose / Summary: The General Manager-KTC will be responsible for the preparation of the training center’s curriculum and liaising with the trainers to ensure quarterly and annual schedules are prepared.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Liaising with the Chief Executive Officer and the KTC Management Team, to prepare budgets and revenue forecasts for the training centre for use in business planning.
  • Overseeing the training centre’s services from the Group Level Services/Shared Services to ensure effective workflow and operations.
  • Liaises with the MD-i2 to develop revenue targets, market share, vetted customer profiles and cash flow projections for the training centre. This also involves developing the implementation plans to ensure the targets and revenue targets are adhered to.
  • Liaising with the HR Director and Learning and Development Manager to develop human resources establishment, training programs for the staff, incentive programs and career development plans for staff.
  • Management and supervision of the training centre’s Management team to ensure policies are implemented, effective operations of the centre and sales targets and revenues are met
  • Liaise with the Business Development team to develop business plans and implementation for expansion and growth of the training centre.
  • Working with various partners and vendors to ensure the training centre attains partnership and/or training certification and maintains this status and is able to benefit from the associated support from the partners and vendors. This also entails partner agreements for provision of trainers when required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science, Business Management or Education.
  • Training in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage.
  • An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8-10 years serving in a senior management position.
  • Proven experience in IT training.
  • Sales experience desirable.
  • Proven experience in designing a curriculum, delivering and evaluating trainings
  • Basic understanding of the IT products available in the regions and new trends.
