Junior Area Manager Job Vacancy in East Africa June 2014

 

Our client in the FMCG Industry is looking for an East Africa Junior Area Manager
The East Africa Junior Area Manager will primarily be responsible for developing key brands in key markets within East Africa through successful strategic planning, execution and evaluation of key sales functions to enhance sustainable growth and profitability for the company.

The East Africa Junior Area Manager will specifically be responsible for the following:

  • Support East Africa Manager in managing and developing customer product sales in key market areas;
  • Ensure new customers are being developed in secondary market areas;
  • Manage a trade development/marketing budget with customers in the area;
  • Assist in the development of marketing execution plans in key market areas;
  • Schedule at least monthly on-line business review meetings with the distributors to discuss sales targets, marketing ideas and tools, problems etc;
  • Control the development budget;
  • Provide regular updates and analysis of distributor inventory status;
  • Provide regular updates and adaptions of shipping forecasts;
  • Conduct regular analysis and reporting on stock flow movements in key market areas;
  • Liaise with the trade marketing team and Area Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Daily engagement of supply chain and logistics department, internally as well as relevant customers;
  • Record weekly shipments as well as market sales-out activity on dashboard with summary for the Area Manager;
  • Prepare ad hoc reports where requested by the Management regarding sales, displays, promotions etc;
  • Collating of documentation required for opening of new accounts (liquor licences, ID, Documents etc.)
  • Liaise with customers regularly to identify monthly and quarterly promotional cycles and appraising their success;
  • Identify key competitor activity and strategy such as new product launches, activations and promotions in the area for sharing with the Sales Manager;
  • Propose ideas and opportunities that could be available to challenge the competitors’ activities with consideration to the financial implications and reputation of the company; and
  • Identify, develop and communicate risk management plans for your area.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Business Administration;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in international consumer goods;
  • Comprehensive skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Sales system;
  • Knowledge of international spirits and wines will be an added advantage;
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least quarterly; and
  • Ability to speak basic French will be an added advantage.
