Job Vacancy at Murang’a County for Projects Coordinator-June 2014
Reporting directly to the County Secretary, the job holder will be responsible for overall logistics, planning, management, co-ordination, implementation, control and on-going monitoring & evaluation of County projects and ensuring consistency with County’s/PROJECT’S strategy, commitments and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide liaison for all County projects and Interface strategically with key stakeholders, cultivate and manage healthy relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Coordinate all County projects by both the Implementation agency and Monitoring & Evaluation agency.
- Oversee development and implementation of effective strategy to ensure projects achieve set project goals.
- Coordinate and oversee tracking of project activities to determine when corrective action is needed to ensure that implementation is consistent with approved SOPs and project objectives.
- Sewing as the central focal point, you will coordinate development and implementation of project scorecard and share with relevant line Directors.
- Provide a lead role to the M&E agency in measuring the project impact, showing achieved milestones for the various projects.
- Keep senior management appraised of all key developments related to intervention delivery and activities, including provision of written reports.
- Monitoring of the procurement process for projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet the set objectives.
- Participate in project implementation committee as a member.
- Occasional travel across project sites, spread over a relatively large geographic area.
- Coordinate and Participate in project launches

- Excellent communication and PR / interpersonal skills with focus on customer service
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
- Post graduate Diploma / Certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation.
- Masters will be an added advantage.
- Two to five years’ experience in a busy M & E / Project Implementation / Operational environment.
- High level of Microsoft Office proficiency with advanced knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint required.
- Fluency in English with good writing skills.
- Good command of Swahili is an advantage.
