Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the workflow of Home Assured magazine
- Create a list of each magazine’s feature, column, department stories and other editorial.
- Assign articles and gives deadlines, word counts and pay rates.
- Traffic all artwork, locate it, secure it, set budgets and work to make sure advertising materials arrive on time.
- Contacts all writers and advertising staff before material is due to ensure they are on schedule.
- Make arrangements to fill all spaces if articles, artworks or ads don’t arrive on time
- Build and maintain internal relationships with all those working on the journals: Production, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services and Accounts
- Liaising with print suppliers and distributor to ensure magazine is delivered on time
- Negotiation and persuasion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize on a daily basis
- Detail oriented
- Written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team with a variety of personalities
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Market focus and customer awareness
- Able to work on a wide range of subject areas and with a variety of professionals
- Strictly more than 2 years’ experience working for a reputable magazine as a writer/editor
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in journalism/PR/communication or any other related field
- Masters degree in a related field will be an added advantage
