Role: Outreach Care Assistant

Reports To: Outreach Team Leader
Liaises With: Programmes department and the other Departments
Duty Station: Mombasa and Busia
Salary: Kshs. 17,500
Purpose of the role: This post reports to the Outreach Team leader within the Programmes Operations Department.
The care assistant is a core member of the outreach team and is primarily responsible and accountable for supporting the team members maintain high standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
Under the overall supervision of the Team leader, the Care Assistant will contribute towards achieving their assigned responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness, sterilizing and autoclaving the medical instruments.
The Activities include:
- Follow all aspects of the infection prevention protocol and assists in Infection Prevention activities as directed by the team leader.
- Disinfection of instruments.
- Packing of instrument before visiting the field sites and after the procedures.
- Careful use of cleaning materials to prevent wastage
- Assisting in carrying the instruments from the team vehicle to the procedure room and vice versa.
2. Record keeping & inventory support
Activities include:
- Assist the team leader in keeping of the client records in order.
- Support the team in activities such as banking and buying items from petty cash, and provides the required receipts
- Keeping inventory of the team supplies and when they get to reorder levels communicate to the team nurse or the team leader to prevent stock outs.
3. Support in service provision
Activities include:
- Conducting vocal local during the procedures.
- Assisting the team nurse in arranging the procedure room.
- Expected to Show good client care to clients and visitors.
- Any other duties maybe assigned from time to time by the team leader.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification O level
Skills Required
- Has general knowledge of Marie Stopes Kenya services.
- Additional qualifications on Front Office, vocal local, Customer care or computer packages will be an added advantage.
