The Lutheran World Federation / Department for World Service Kenya / Djibouti Programme is seeking to recruit a Kenyan national for the following position, to be based at Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide purposeful leadership, inspiration and guidance, manages the day to day routine of MS ensuring optimal academic performance for the staff and pupils.
  • Provide curricula review and development, continuous mentoring of students’ performance and planning and managing education systems in line with the MOE policies and requirements to include measures of Value Addition for students and staff
  • Work closely with the community, students and other stakeholders generate the values of the school.
  • Set short, medium and long term school objectives and targets and ensure that both staff and students are committed and motivated to contribute towards their
  • Plan, allocate, support and supervise staff work, ensuring clear delegation while facilitating the participation and involvement of students in school management and development
  • Determine and implement positive strategies and programmes which ensure good pupil behaviour and discipline; giving support and clear guidance on exclusions.
  • To promote and maintain an environment that enhances good teaching and effective learning and leading by example by teaching at least 16 lessons per week.
  • Mentor and develop staff to achieve the highest possible performance standards
  • In charge of the implementation of the staff Code of Conduct within the school
Professional Qualification:
  • Bachelor of Education and must be registered with TSC
  • 5 years working experience out of which at least 2 years as a HT or HOD with track record of achievement in both academic excellence and good formation of learners
  • Must be registered with Teachers Service Commission as a Secondary School Teacher
  • Ability to communicate efficiently on email and use of MS Word and Excel is an added advantage
