Country Sales Team Manager

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Country Sales Team Manager will take charge of the parts sales and manufactured components portfolio.

The successful individual’s success on the job will be judged on their contribution to turnover, incremental business, achievement of budgets within his/her assigned portfolio and product mix amongst others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Put in place appropriate sales strategies that support the company’s market penetration, product development and overall growth strategies.
  • Develop and recommend to the Chief Executive Officer annual business plans and continuously monitor to ensure that the achievement of business plans is on target.
  • Prepare and present annual business lines for different product lines and key customers.
  • Formulate annual budgets and continually review performance against budget and sales forecasts on a month to month basis while ensuring that sales activities are within budget.
  • Formulate, review and update sales policies in line with the company’s sales objectives to guide sales activities and ensure target achievement.
  • Liaise with the Workshop and Production Manager on orders and production requirements and work through the team to ensure customer orders are up to spec and serviced on a timely basis.
  • Study market information relating to product performance, pricing, market trends and competitor products and activities so as to determine optimal strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, handle customer complaints and extend relationships in the industry including with automotive dealers, fleet owners, UN/NGOs and the oil, gas, petroleum and mining sectors amongst others.
  • Ensure timely payment of debts within the agreed credit period.
  • Develop and implement social media marketing strategies and sales.
  • Recruit, lead, develop and coach key sales talent required to deliver annual business results and create a focused, disciplined and results oriented team.
  • Ensure current dealer network is well managed to deliver on business targets, expand the dealer network including identifying high potential dealers and train them on set standards, product information and good business practice.
Qualification and experience
  • Advanced degree/ Bachelors degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or business related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in sales and marketing; experience in the automotive industry will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in leading and managing a sales team.
  • Experience in key account, distributor and dealer management.
  • Genuine interest and passion for the motor industry and all things motoring.
  • Commercial minded with strong business acumen.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and strong people management skills.
  • Desire to build and create a leading market brand with proven experience and track record in leading a successful sales team.
  • A skilled communicator both in written and oral communications
  • The position requires extensive travel.
