Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
- Provide technical support to designated data management staff of Nutrition Consortium partner organisations in collecting, collating and analyzing data from routine data collection systems, program, assessments, periodic mass screening and the pilot mobile technology system.
- Lead on data entry, cleaning and analysis using data analysis packages such as SPSS, Epi Info, Excel and ENA for SMART surveys
- Produce monthly site specific written analyses and graphic (including mapping) presentations of the quarter nutrition screening findings as well as other relevant information
- Ensures that technical protocols, manuals, guidelines and forms used in the field are in line with validated technical tools and national guidelines.
- Produce regular update backed on evidence on the nutrition situation of Somalia from the programme as well as information from other sources including local and international organizations as well as UN agencies
- Build capacity of field staff in data collection, analysis and reporting
- Regularly monitor the evolution of the nutritional situation in operational areas through data analysis
- Training and building technical capacity of the survey teams and field-based project managers to carry out surveys on their own.
- Provides inputs to the field-based nutrition staff on programme performance, admission data and project progress
- Prepares programme wide and site specific monthly statistical reports with brief summary on project/programme performance and situation analysis supported by qualitative information
- Compile and, at the request of the Somalia Nutrition Consortium Manager, present analytical data on coverage and impact of the nutrition programme
- Comply with and promote all Global Policies such as Child Safeguarding, whistle blowing, fraud and safety
- Perform other duties as may be requested by the incumbent’s supervisor

- Advanced degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Epidemiology or related discipline
- Extensive experience in conducting Nutrition surveys and proven experience with the SQUEAC/LQAS/CSAS methodology
- Proven ability to organize and supervise a survey team in a cross-cultural setting. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Good training/facilitation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to operate as part of a team in a multi-cultural, values driven work environment. Somalia language an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning processes
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
