Mapping and Inventory of Tourism Sites and Facilities
Kiambu County Government wishes to undertake the mapping and inventory of tourism attractions, products, facilities and services in the county with a view of developing policies and strategies for effective tourism product development, marketing and promotion of tourism within the county.

We invite qualified interested consultants to submit Expression of Interest (EoI).

The expected period for the mapping and inventory commencing April 2014.
Scope of Work
The consultancy will be responsible for the following aspects:
  1. Identify, categorise and document all tourism products and services in Kiambu County.
  2. Determine the tourism market readiness of the sites and attractions as well as strategy for value enhancement.
  3. Evaluation of Kiambu County hospitality-bed capacity services and tour operations for regulation and standardisation.
  4. Undertake the GIS mapping and digitised map of the products and services.
  5. Development of a tourism guide for Kiambu County.
  6. To pay particular interest to 14 Falls environs and eco-tourism within the Forests.
Statement of Qualification
The EOI responses must include details on the below aspects as part of the statement of qualifications:
  1. Understanding of the assignment.
  2. Experience of similar undertakings.
  3. Consultancy human resource base and their specialisation.
  4. Engagement with stakeholders and local partners.
  5. Financial capabilities and commitments to carry out the task.
  6. Knowledge of modern mapping technology such as GIS and digital map production.
The ECl documents must be accompanied by copies of the following:
a) Company profile
b) Certificate of business incorporation c)Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
d) List of at least three similar projects undertake previously
e) List of at least three references of organisations your firm has offered similar services
Interested consultants must submit an original and two copies of the ECl with all the necessary documentation in a plain sealed envelope clearly labelled on the top left side “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – TOURISM MAPPING AND INVENTORY” along with the covering letter duly signed by an authorised signatory so as to reach/be received by the undersigned on or before 14th March 2014 at 11.30
The document should be deposited in the Tender Box situated on the First Floor of Kiambu County offices in Thika and addressed as shown below;

The EOI will be opened soon thereafter at the county chambers located on the ground floor at the Kiambu County – Thika Offices in the presence of bidders or representatives who choose to attend.
The EOI will be evaluated and the qualifying firms issued with Request for Proposals (RFPs)
