Oxfam in has been working in Somalia for over 40 years with interventions focusing mainly on sustainable livelihoods and public health , including water and sanitation interventions.
The role
You will support the Country Programme to proactively mobilise resources, particularly from global and international calls, for the delivery of the programmes.
Develop and implement a funding strategy in collaboration with the programme team and achieve planned Income targets.
You will assist the country team in the planning, coordinating development and submission of high quality, proposals.
You will train and strengthen fund-raising and contract management capacity of programme teams.
Actively support in the coordination and effective communication between the Somalia programme, Regional Centre and HQ-based staff.
Support programme management teams to ensure high quality contract management including reporting and use appropriate organisational procedures and systems.
In consultation with the programme team make regular programme visits, particularly to support on contract management related issues.
You need to represent Oxfam to the donor community as required and maintain positive working relationship with donor agencies.
What we are looking for
You will have a minimum of 3 years extensive experience in funding management, raising funds from major funding institutions e.g. DFID, EU, ECHO, OFDA and UN agencies.
Sound understanding of donors and funding policies and NGO programming in emergencies and/or development environment.
Ability to work effectively with others, influencing, supporting, following as required.
Good supervisory skills, including training and coaching skills and a willingness to support development of others.
Good administrative skills and ability to effectively use IT packages and follow organisational procedures.
Good attention to detail, excellent numeracy, budgeting and financial reporting skills highly developed interpersonal skills, with ability to represent Oxfam to external organisations and individuals.
