Population Services International, Kenya (PSI/Kenya) is searching for a private sector firm that has the capability to manage the manufacture, marketing and distribution of the WaterGuard brand.

WaterGuard is a successful point of use household water treatment proven to purify untreated water to drinking standards and dramatically reduce the incidence of diarrhea.

PSI/Kenya now invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from manufacturing / distribution firms for shortlisting to perform the aforementioned assignment.

Firms may associate or form partnerships to enhance qualifications.

The EOI should demonstrate a sound understanding of manufacturing, marketing and distribution of a FMCG, as well as the ability, skills and experience to undertake the assignment and deliver quality output. Partnerships with

PSI/Kenya will be supported through pricing, volume, coverage, and other performance indicator targets.

The Firm selected will leverage margins from the sale of product to sustainably support the brand – no direct subsidy will be provided by PSI/Kenya.

Interested firms having relevant experience should submit their EOIs in duplicate, along with the following information stating the background of their organizations and details of their experience in the assignment.

Minimum requirements:

At least three years experience in brand management
Demonstrate adequate availability of your current product portfolio in deep rural areas or potential thereof
Demonstrate possession of adequate resources to achieve the sales and distribution objectives
Certificate of registration of the firm as a legal entity
Documents to support Joint Venture/Association, if any
Current Tax Compliance certificate

Request for Proposal will only be issued to the shortlisted firms.

The EOI shall be submitted in not more than 4 pages in the EXACT format outlined below:

I. Provide information on core business and years in business. In addition, firms must demonstrate a track record managing FMCG brands, product distribution, and marketing campaigns. (1500 characters)

II. Provide information showing that they are qualified in the field of the assignment. (1000 characters)

III. Provide information on the technical and managerial capabilities of the firm. (1000 characters)

IV. Provide information on the staffing of the organization. (1000 characters)

V. Additional Comments (3500 characters)

The EOI should be sent to the address below and dropped in the tender box by 5pm on 9th December 2013

PSI/Kenya will not reimburse any costs or expenses incurred in connection with the preparation or delivery of the EOI
