Program Description: Research Care and Training Program (RCTP) is collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW).

RCTP leads the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, a comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment program working in 140 clinics in Kisumu, Migori and Homabay Counties, Kenya.

We have a Vacancy for the Provincial Technical Advisor in charge of Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision (VMMC) in the FACES program

Position: Provincial Technical Advisor-Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision

Reports to: Deputy Director- Clinical

Location: Kisumu

Duration: One Year Renewable

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee VMMC activities in the FACES program
Develop VMMC annual work plan for FACES program.
Take lead role in VMMC program budget development.
Provide guidance on budget implementation so as to ensure it is in line with the annual work plan
Represent FACES program in all inter county and National VMMC meetings
Convene periodic VMMC in-charges meetings
Supervise and report on all VMMC activities in the FACES Program to the donor and MOH.
Provide quarterly, semi-annual and annual progress reports on VMMC to the FACES directors, county directors of Health and Donors.
Ensure that VMMC teams are providing quality services to all clients seeking VMMC services in line with recommended WHO and the National Guidelines
Train VMMC in-Charges and other clinicians on circumcision procedure techniques
Ensure proper inventory management for VMMC commodities in the FACES program.
Monitor and evaluate VMMC performance and advise accordingly.

Requirements

Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized medical training institution and must be a registered member with the Clinical Officers Counsel
Minimum of 3 years working experience in a VMMC clinic, 2 of which must have been as the VMMC in Charge.
Must have a certified training on VMMC
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
Must be ready to learn and follow instructions keenly
Must be a good team Player.
