Kenya Seed Company (KSC) Limited is an ISO certified Strategic State Corporation in the Agricultural sector and with Subsidiaries in Tanzania and Uganda that produces and markets top quality certified seeds with an overall objective of adding value to the farming business and contributing to food self sufficiency in Kenya and beyond.

Purpose of the Job
Under the direction of the Managing Director, the Procurement Manager will head the Procurement function and play a critical role in the day to day operations and execution of the Procurement strategies to enable the department deliver on set objectives.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Procurement policies and procedures in line with Procurement laws and regulations;
  • Ensure user departments adhere to procurement plans in line with budgets;
  • Carry market surveys, monitor and evaluate performance of the supply chain function;
  • Ensure sound partnerships with suppliers, clients and relevant government agencies;
  • Ensure timely, efficient and effective procurement of goods, services and works, while strictly adhering to the procurement policy;
  • Prepare requisitions for quotations or tenders to pre-qualified suppliers for the Company.
  • Process applications and prepare the Company’s Tender Committee papers;
  • Establish in liaison with the relevant departments and end-users, quality specifications of goods and services required by the Company;
  • Carry out designated checks on quality and security aspects of procurement;
  • Review the supply chain to ensure it is efficient and effective
  • Manage the annual supplier pre-qualification exercise;
  • Manage the disposal of obsolete and disposable items.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
Job Specification
  • A Bachelors degree Supply Chain Management/ Social Sciences and a
  • A Diploma in CIPS or other equivalent professional qualification,
  • A minimum of 12 years’ working experience, 8 of which must be post first degree qualification and 3 years at Senior Management position.
  • At least one (1) years relevant experience in similar position in a busy reputable Organization,
  • Must have sound knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposable Act 2005.
  • Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
